In 2008 a group of five glass artists, living and working in the Welsh Marches, formed Marcher Glass in order to exhibit and promote their work within their rural area as well as raising awareness, not only of their work, but the area in which they live, to a wider audience. Each artist has their own glass specialism, run workshops, and are available for commissions either individually or as a whole.

Wolfe began working as a self-taught
glass artist in 1978. In 1983-4 she subsequently trained at
Wrexham Collage of Art under Mel Harries and Chris Bird-Jones,
specialising in stained glass. Her commissioned pieces encompasses
domestic, corporate and ecclesiastical work. Wolfe combines
traditional leaded work with kiln-fired painting, sandblasted etching
and glass mosaics. The inspiration for her own work lies in the Welsh landscape and legend. Wolfe was a founder member of 'Arts Connection' in North Powys. She is now a partner in 'Mirage Glass' studios, which celebrated its 30th year in business in 2008. |
